Economics, Accounting, and Finance Department
Department of Economics and Finance
XIAOLI WANG, Chairperson
The Department of Economics and Finance represents those areas that are quantitative. It houses two separate, distinct undergraduate degree programs. Our Economics majors receive a Bachelor of Arts degree which is liberal arts based. Finance is one of the five areas of emphasis available to undergraduate business majors who attain a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration upon graduation.
Two distinctive features of this department include the Investment Center and the Bureau of Economic Research. The Investment Center is a state-of-the-art classroom with a trading room atmosphere and 12 Bloomberg terminals. The Director of the Investment Center guides students in two credit-bearing financial investment practicums in which students are responsible for the financial portfolio of the Greystone Fund. The Director of the Bureau of Economic Research produces economic reports on the Hudson Valley region, maintains vital professional contact with business and economic groups in the area, and provides opportunities to students through research and internships.
Programs of Study
The Business Administration program also has a concentration in Finance.
