Frequently Asked Questions

Parking Permits

Yes, there is a nominal student parking permit fee of $50 per semester. This fee directly supports shuttle services and parking improvements across campus.

Parking permits for residential students will be designated by east or west campus based on student housing assignments. This helps reduce traffic flow across campus and improves space availability. See a map of designated parking lots here

Commuter students will park on east campus, specifically parking lots at 51 Fulton Street, Beck Place, and Upper West Cedar. These locations are served by the campus shuttle for easy access and are only a 5-10 minute walk to academic buildings.

Beginning on August 11, 2025, students can apply for a parking permit on the University’s parking website found here.

Shuttle

The shuttle system launches at 7 a.m. on August 25, on the first day of classes this fall semester.

Two routes will operate Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

  • Academic Express – a six-minute loop that serves main academic buildings and connects West and East campus for quick, convenient access to classes.
  • Marist Loop – a 16-minute loop that covers residential areas and commuter lots on the perimeter of campus as well as main academic buildings.

Yes! Shuttle locations will be available in real-time through the MaristSafe app, so you’ll always know when your next ride is arriving.

Yes, all shuttle riders must show their Marist ID. If you do not have a Marist-issued ID, you will not be able to ride the shuttle. This is for the safety of the Marist community.
