Judith Fenlon
Assistant Professor of Social Work
Bio
Dr. Fenlon is a professor, researcher and social worker with a background in youth development, workforce development and veteran issues. She is a passionate advocate for marginalized young people including LBGTQAI+ and racial, ethnic, and economically disadvantaged populations. Dr. Fenlon earned her Bachelor of Arts in Human Services from The George Washington University in 2001, her Masters of Social Work from Columbia University in 2005 and a PhD in Social Welfare from the University at Albany (SUNY) in 2026.
With close to fifteen years of practice experience, Dr. Fenlon has worked in diverse sectors within social work including clinical work with children and adolescents, school social work, child welfare reporting, program administration and development. As a Social Work educator, Dr. Fenlon is passionate about empowering the next generation of social workers. Through critical reflection and analysis, she encourages her students to keep asking questions to become competent social workers and good humans.

Research Interests/Area of Focus
Youth development, child welfare and juvenile justice involved youth, peer support and mental health interventions for Veterans, qualitative and community based participatory (CBPR) research methods.
