Crime and Justice Studies Internships
Internships are a core component of the Crime and Justice Studies program at Marist University. Through hands-on experience, students apply classroom learning in real-world settings while developing the skills, judgment, and confidence essential for justice-related careers. These experiences allow students to explore career pathways, connect theory to practice, and graduate with meaningful professional experience that sets them apart.
Students receive individualized support at every stage of the internship process, from exploring their interests and identifying opportunities, to preparing applications and receiving oversight throughout their placement. These internships often lead to lasting professional relationships and employment opportunities after graduation.
Students intern in justice-related organizations that span:
- Local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies
- Law offices and courts
- Corrections and probation departments
- Victim advocacy and community support organizations
- Re-entry and transitional services
- Legal support and research roles
*Note for International Students: If you are applying for an internship you must meet with the Designated School Official (DSO) before beginning the internship to complete required paperwork and obtain an authorized I-20. Please visit the Career Services site to review the Application Process for Elective Credit Internships for International Students and Eligibility Requirements for International Students drop-down sections for details.
