Benefits of Membership

Leadership

Fraternity & Sorority Life offers numerous opportunities for students to develop leadership skills both within their chapters and across the broader campus community. Members may serve on executive boards, hold council positions, and coordinate chapter programs and initiatives.

Through these experiences, students gain practical skills in event planning, budgeting, teamwork, communication, accountability, and time management that support their academic and professional success.

Scholarship

Academic achievement remains a primary focus of Fraternity & Sorority Life at Marist University. Chapters support members' educational goals through academic resources, mentoring programs, study initiatives, and recognition of academic accomplishments.

Members are encouraged to prioritize their education while benefiting from the support and accountability of their chapter community.

Philanthropy & Community Service

Service is a defining characteristic of fraternity and sorority experience. Each chapter supports philanthropic causes through fundraising, education, advocacy, and volunteer efforts. Many chapters also partner with local organizations to address community needs.

Throughout the year, members participate in a variety of service and philanthropy initiatives that positively impact both the Marist and surrounding communities.
