Alexa Akselband, LMHC (she/her/hers)

Bio
Alexa is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor several with years of experience working among different populations in the mental health field. She earned her BA in Psychology with minors in Art Therapy and Spanish from SUNY Plattsburgh. Her love for campus life inspired her to stay at SUNY Plattsburgh where she then earned her MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Alexa utilizes an empathic, strengths-based, and person-centered approach in her sessions. She has a strong background in college student affairs, as well as substance abuse treatment and prevention for all ages. With a passion for mindfulness and creative arts-based interventions, Alexa works diligently to cultivate a judgment-free environment for all to explore their thoughts, feelings, and personal goals. During her free time, Alexa can be found painting, kickboxing, exploring new recipes in her kitchen, or singing her heart out at a concert.
