Beth Sirof, PsyD

Clinical Counselor

Bio

Dr. Sirof is a Clinical Psychologist who works part-time with Counseling Services at Marist University and at her private practice of 20 years in New Paltz. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship at SUNY Purchase Counseling Center in 2004 and fell in love with college counseling. She loves helping students navigate early adult identity development.

She is warm and empathic, and most importantly, nonjudgemental. In her work you will find her encouraging the expansion of emotional vocabulary and helping build a toolbox of strategies that can help with self-reliance in emotion regulation. Dr. Sirof enjoys helping students manage their evolving relationship with parent-figures as they crave more independence, space, and autonomy.

In her personal life, you can often find Dr. Sirof chasing sunsets and taking long walks, drinking coffee, and having conversation and cheeseburgers at NY diners. She minored in Spanish, loves the language, and continues to expand her comprehension and speaking abilities. And cats, how can we forget the cats?
