England, London - KEI: London South Bank University

Work and study in one of the world’s leading capitals on the south bank while walking on streets teeming with history.

Location

London, the capital of England, is a city full of history and culture. London is filled with attractions from the Tower of London, Big Ben, Westminster, Oxford Street, and so much more. It is one of the world’s most diverse cities where a multitude of languages are spoken and many cultural activities take place throughout the year. The city is very easily navigated through the London underground (subway) system.

Institution

London South Bank University (LSBU) was established in 1892 and is regarded as the oldest, largest, and most diverse university in all of London. The campus is located in central London is only a short distance from some of London’s most iconic landmarks.

Academics

London South Bank University offers a wide range of courses that students can enroll in. Students can enroll in a maximum of 16 credits per semester--most classes are 4 credits each. KEI Students are required to take the ‘London City of Change’ as part of their semester credits. In addition to the required course students typically take 2 -3 courses.

KEI offers students the opportunity to not only study in London, but to also gain valuable experience at an internship if desired. Students can learn firsthand as to what if means to be a part of the daily workforce in the fast-paced lifestyle of a major city.

Student Life & Co-curricular

Students are able to participate in university clubs, sports, and activities such as netball, and taekwondo. Volunteer opportunities are available. KEI arranges excursions around London for the students to participate in such as the London Eye and Tower Bridge. Two day trips are arranged to Stonehenge and Oxford. An overnight trip to Wales is also available.

Housing

Participants in the program will be housed in the university residence hall. The hall is suite styled with a shared kitchen and dining area. While four to nine students share a suit, the bedrooms are singles and have their own bathrooms. A communal laundry room is available in the building and students have access to Wi-Fi.

Program Cost

The program fee includes tuition (12-16 credits), accommodation, program orientation, scheduled academic excursions, and international health insurance. The program cost is based on full-time semester tuition and on-campus Marist housing. Students receive a detailed cost sheet once they have been admitted to the Marist Abroad Program.

Admission criteria

  • Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at the time of application
  • Sophomore standing or higher at the time of study abroad
  • Academic Advisor approval of program and coursework
