August 26, 2025 — From top-tier experiential learning opportunities to a scenic campus setting, Marist continues to be recognized among the nation’s best colleges and universities.
This year’s publication of The Best 391 Colleges by The Princeton Review once again names Marist one of the country’s leading schools, highlighting the University as one of the “50 Colleges that Create Futures” and ranking it in the top 25 for both Most Beautiful Campus and Best Athletic Facilities.
The Princeton Review praises Marist as a place that “empower[s] students to discover practical applications for their talents and interests through experiences that complement their classes and coursework.”
"We’re honored to be recognized by The Princeton Review for our innovative programs and experiential learning, which empower faculty to connect theory with practice and engage students beyond the classroom,” said Dr. James Snyder, Dean for Academic Engagement. “This approach has delivered proven results, and I look forward to seeing our faculty continue to innovate to provide the best possible education.”

Set along the banks of the Hudson River, Marist’s Poughkeepsie campus has long been a source of inspiration and relaxation for students, faculty, and staff, and is now earning recognition by The Princeton Review as one of the country’s 25 most beautiful campuses.
Marist’s famous sunsets remain a favorite backdrop for photos and social media posts, even generating a student-run Instagram account, @marist_sunsets, that shows off some of our campus’s nicest views with community-submitted photos.
“The fact that campus opens to the river is unquestionably what makes it so special and different from any other campus I have ever seen,” said Jenna Bonafide '26, who curates the @marist_sunsets profile. “Running this Instagram for the past couple years has been such a special tradition and way for students, myself included, to appreciate the campus and share it with others.”
Our student workers also recently captured some lesser-known spots to take beautiful photos on campus. Check out their Instagram reel below!
Additionally, Marist was recognized among the 25 schools with the Best Athletic Facilities in the country.
“Marist’s top-of-the-line athletics facilities, which now include our new track and turf field facility, continue to improve year by year, giving our student-athletes and the broader campus community unmatched access to world-class resources and training spaces,” said Director of Athletics Tim Murray. “This recognition further underscores our commitment to the Red Fox community.”
The ribbon cutting for the new track & turf field facility will take place this fall. Be on the lookout for an announcement coming soon.
