Summer Pre-College Admission
Message from Business Summer Pre-College Director
In this program, students will acquire a foundational understanding of business entities, business management, and entrepreneurship. This course will also explore how businesses manage economic uncertainty, legal and ethical challenges, and their social responsibilities as corporate citizens. Students will be introduced to the history and dominant paradigms used by contemporary organizations and businesses and will learn how to generate business plans as a tool for business. This course is also designed to assist students in further developing their verbal and written communication skills.
About Professor Tracey Niemotko, JD, CPA, CFE
As an attorney-at-law, certified public accountant, and certified fraud examiner, Prof. Niemotko has an extensive professional background and brings a wealth of experience to her business and accounting classes. She enjoys teaching and working with students to help them develop the communication "soft" skills needed to thrive in the business environment.
Prof. Niemotko remains active with the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA). She has served on its Board and currently serves as one of its representatives on the Governing Council of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). In 2022, Prof. Niemotko was honored by being recognized among Accounting Today's Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting. She currently serves as the Chair of the Department of Accounting and the Director of the Master of Science Program in Professional Accountancy.
