Meet Fine Arts Major, Bridget
A major in fine arts with concentrations in studio art and art history and a minor in photography, Bridget Stevens explored woodworking, ceramics, oil painting, and printmaking mediums while at Marist. Much of her artwork includes plants, animals, and natural elements, aiming to capture the beauty of nature while also conveying the complexity of the human mind. She participated in various exhibitions, including the Senior Exhibition titled "IDENTITY." She also co-curated an exhibit titled "Canvas & Vinyl" which featured her work with other fellow senior art students.
Customize Your Studio Art Curriculum
The variety of Studio Art programs available to you as a Marist student allows you to develop a curriculum that is best for your interests in career goals. You can either pursue one of two Studio Art programs:
- B.S. in Studio Art: hone your skills and harness your artistic potential with this carefully structured series of courses organized to broaden your understanding, aesthetic awareness, and technical abilities in the studio arts
- B.S. in Fine Arts with a concentration in Studio Art: an excellent option for students who are planning to double-major or have multiple minors; also encourages customization in specialty tracks: Digital Media, Drawing, Graphic Design, Painting, or Photography
Broaden Your Horizons at the Venice Biennale
Along with the Studio Art program's emphasis on international study and access to our Marist in Manhattan internship program in New York City, our students also gain exposure to arguably the most important art exhibition in the world–the Venice Biennale. The Marist Biennale program is a four-week intensive immersion program in the Studio Arts in the Venice Biennale. Venice has the quality of being a living museum, and when our Studio Art students arrive in Venice, they are immediately artistically inspired and driven. Watch the video to hear from students who have participated in the Marist Biennale program.
