Information for Students Interested in Health Professions Schools
While the majority of Marist's pre-health students apply to medical, dental, veterinary, or physician assistant school, we have some every year who choose other health professions. Marist students are extremely successful gaining admission to these schools, with between 60-95 percent over the past several years gaining entry to their chosen health professions school. Marist alumni have attended the New England College of Optometry (Boston), Pennsylvania College of Optometry, SUNY New York College of Optometry, Albany College of Pharmacy, Massachusetts College of Optometry, Boston University (PT), Duke University (PT), New York Medical College (PT), Sage College (PT), Stony Brook University (PT), Life College of Chiropractic Medicine (Georgia), New York College of Chiropractic Medicine, Sage College (OT), Bay Path College (OT), NYU (MPH) Yale (MPH), Columbia (MPH), to name a few.
Requirements for Applying to One of These Schools
All of the different types of health professions schools have different requirements. The following links will take you to the professional associations that give information on the application requirements and processes. You can also contact Pre-Health Program Co-Coordinators, Prof. Kristin Dragos or Dr. Michael Powers, for more information.
