For Devvani Choudhury, transferring to Marist offered the chance to find a college experience that combined creativity, professional preparation, and meaningful connections. Hailing from Pocatello, Idaho, Devvani is pursuing a degree in Communications with a concentration in Advertising while participating in Marist's accelerated Master's in Marketing Communication. After previously attending an arts conservatory for Design and Production, Devvani was drawn to Marist because it allowed her to continue exploring her artistic passions while gaining the practical skills, industry connections, and career-focused experiences needed to succeed in today's communications landscape.

What has stood out most to Devvani is how quickly Marist helped her become involved both inside and outside the classroom. Within her first year, she participated in the Emerging Leaders Program, FoxTracks, and Student Government. She was inducted into the inaugural chapter of Tau Sigma, the national honor society for transfer students. These opportunities have helped her build leadership skills, expand her network, and gain hands-on experience.

A defining part of her Marist experience has been the supportive community she found on campus. Devvani credits the University's size and culture for making it easy to build genuine relationships with professors and faculty members who are deeply invested in their students' success. Through these connections, she has found mentorship, encouragement, and access to professionals who can help guide her toward her long-term goal of working in communications and marketing within the entertainment industry.

Looking back, Devvani describes flexibility as the hallmark of her Marist journey. She values the University's "and, not or" philosophy, which has empowered her to shape an educational experience that reflects her unique interests and aspirations. For her, Marist has been a place where she can blend creativity with professional growth, explore new opportunities, and prepare confidently for the next chapter of her career.
