Fusco Music Scholarships
Established by the Frank A. Fusco and Nelly Goletti Fusco Foundation, Inc. to support talented incoming first-year and transfer student musicians, the Fusco Music Scholarship is available to those committed to participate in Marist's music minor program and have demonstrated financial need.
Incoming students applying for the Frank A. Fusco and Nelly Goletti Fusco Music Scholarship are eligible to receive a $2,500 award renewable each year. Incoming students may audition for instrumental or vocal scholarships prior to their admission to Marist College. Please note, an offer of this scholarship does not constitute an offer of admission to the college and is only available for incoming first-year and transfer students.
SCHOLARSHIP AUDITIONS FOR NEW STUDENTS ENROLLING FOR THE FALL 2024 SEMESTER MAY BE CONDUCTED IN-PERSON OR THROUGH ONLINE SUBMISSION.

In-person auditions will occur on Feb. 15, March 19, and April 11.
WHAT TO PREPARE FOR YOUR INSTRUMENTAL AUDITION:
- Two contrasting (2) medium to advanced level pieces without accompaniment.
- For Percussionists only:
- Snare drummers: two contrasting solos or etudes, one of which must be in rudimental style
- Marimba players: two contrasting solos, one of which may be played on xylophone or vibraphone, one with two mallets, one with four mallets
- Timpanists: one solo or etude
- Be able to sight read from current Marist Band/Orchestra concert repertoire.
- Two (2) major scales (Marist faculty will determine based on instrument).
- Résumé
- Letter of Recommendation from current director or private instructor
- Completed Audition Application Form
WHAT TO PREPARE FOR YOUR VOCAL AUDITION:
- One classical-style selection; performed in a foreign language
- One selection of contrasting quality and genre (may be in English)
- Prepare for melodic line sight-reading (solfege)
- Vocalization
- Recording of accompaniment (can be played wirelessly on a bluetooth speaker)
- Repertoire List
- Résumé
- Letter of Recommendation from current director or private instructor
- Completed Audition Application Form
FRANK A. FUSCO & NELLY GOLETTI FUSCO MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP CONDITIONS
Scholars must meet the following conditions to maintain scholarship renewal eligibility:
- Student must maintain full-time enrollment
- Student must declare music as their minor field of study
- Student must maintain a 2.85 cumulative grade point average
- Student must participate in ensembles prescribed by the Director of the Music Program, Director of Bands or Orchestra Director (Instrumental Scholar), or Director of Choral Activities (Vocal Scholar)
This scholarship perpetuates the memory of longtime Dutchess County residents Frank and Nelly Fusco and celebrates their shared love of music. Awards will be made by the Marist Office of Student Financial Services in consultation with the Director of Marist's Music Program. Scholarship awards will be renewable subject to satisfactory performance and ongoing good standing within the music program. An audition is required for consideration.
