Division of Extended Learning
Formally the School of Professional Programs
Welcome from the Division of Extended Learning
Here you can explore the various programs we offer and support including programs for high school students, bachelor’s degree completion options for working adults, our online summer and winter sessions open to current and non-matriculated students, to our enriching and engaging programing for individuals in our surrounding community who are 55 or older.
The mission of the Division of Extended Learning (DEL) is to support and empower all learners through academic opportunities by providing innovative, flexible, and accessible educational programs. DEL is dedicated to fostering personal and professional growth, enhancing skills, and enriching lives through a diverse range of academic and meaningful experiences. DEL’s commitment creates an inclusive and supportive environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a passion for knowledge.
Whether you are interested in completing an undergraduate degree, completing a certificate program, earn credit or non-credit digital badges or get a jump on your college career, the Division of Extended Learning offers a quality education based on the proven areas of expertise at Marist.
During your visit to our website, we urge you to explore our degree completion major:
- Professional Studies: a customizable program that leads to either a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science that provides the flexibility to focus on a variety of concentrations that can both maximize transfer credits and address specific skills and tools needed for students to achieve their academic, personal and career goals.
The Professional Studies major is designed to provide adult learners the opportunity to complete their undergraduate studies with the flexibility necessary to balance their personal and professional responsibilities. Students may also have the opportunity to earn four graduate courses while working towards their undergraduate degree.
- Looking for a career in law? Our hybrid American Bar Association approved Weekend Paralegal program allows the flexibility many adult learners need to remain successful. One can complete the certificate program in 12 consecutive months.
- Current and visiting students from other institutions of higher education may take credits during our online SUMMER (8-weeks) and WINTER (4-weeks) sessions in order to remain on track academically or to create opportunities to distinguish their degrees.
- Information on our Summer Pre-College programs can be found here. Rising high school juniors and seniors may be looking for an exciting and challenging academic experience where they get to live on our beautiful campus for two to four weeks and earn college credits.
- Are you looking to take courses at Marist while enrolled as a student elsewhere? Or are you looking to take a college course out of interest or to earn prerequisites for a future degree? Individuals who fit this criterion are considered non-matriculated students. Additional information can be found here.
- Our Center for Lifetime Study provides opportunities for educational, intellectual, and cultural growth for people 55 and older. Enrollment in this program is year-round. Volunteer opportunities are available!
We are glad you dropped in. Please feel free to reach out with any questions by either calling 845-575.3202 or emailing us at ExtendedLearning@marist.edu.
