Phi Delta Epsilon International Pre-Medical Fraternity
Marist established a chapter of this international fraternity in 1996. Phi Delta Epsilon's mission is to foster and achieve bonding among physicians of high moral character, devoted to education and philanthropy for a lifetime. The Marist chapter is very active in tutoring, volunteer work, judging local science fairs, and helping first-year science majors acclimate to college. Phi Delta Epsilon sponsors a publication (Phi Delta Epsilon News and Scientific Journal) and maintains a website at www.phide.org; both of these provide information about medical school and the admissions process.
Sigma Zeta National Science and Math Honor Society - Alpha Phi Chapter
Requirements for induction are a 3.0 overall GPA and a 3.0 science GPA. Students are nominated at the end of sophomore year or the start of junior year. Membership in this honor society is noted in the commencement program. In addition to the honor of membership, Sigma Zeta students assist in judging at local science fairs and in tutoring.
