Undergraduate Admission
Fusco Music Scholarships
Awards are available based on talent and technical merit. Incoming freshmen and transfer students applying for the Fusco Music Scholarship are eligible to receive a $2,500 award renewable each year. Incoming students may audition for instrumental or vocal scholarships prior to their admission to Marist College.
Please note, an offer of the Fusco Music Scholarship does not constitute an offer of admission to the college and is only available for new students.
Please contact the Music Office if travel distance is a prohibiting factor in scheduling an audition.
Instrumental Auditions: Each Audition will take 30 minutes. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your audition to check-in and warm-up. Check-in will occur in the Music Program Office, located on the 4th floor of the Murray Student Center.
Audition Dates:
- February 14, 2020 - 2:00pm to 5:00pm (every half hour)
- February 21, 2020 - 2:00pm to 5:00pm (every half hour)
- February 24, 2020 - 2:00pm to 5:00pm (every half hour)
- February 28, 2020 - 2:00pm to 5:00pm (every half hour)
Vocal Auditions: Each Audition will take 15 minutes. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your audition to check-in and warm-up. Check-in will occur in the Music Program Office, located on the 4th floor of the Murray Student Center.
Audition Dates:
- February 11, 2020 - 12:00pm - 2:00pm (every 15 minutes)
- February 21, 2020 - 12:00pm - 2:00pm (every 15 minutes)
- February 25, 2020 - 12:00pm - 2:00pm (every 15 minutes)
- March 10, 2020 - 12:00pm - 2:00pm (every 15 minutes)

Fusco Music Scholarship Conditions
Fusco Music Scholars must meet the following conditions to maintain scholarship renewal eligibility:
- Student must maintain full-time enrollment
- Student must declare music as their minor field of study
- Student must maintain a 2.85 cumulative grade point average
- Student must participate in ensembles prescribed by the Director of Bands(Instrumental Scholar) or Director of Choral Activities (Vocal Scholar)
Audition Requirements
To audition please have the following materials prepared:
Vocal Audition:
- One (1) classical-style selection; performed in a foreign language
- One (1) selection of contrasting quality and genre (may be in English)
- Prepare for melodic line sight-reading
- Vocalization
- Recording of accompaniment on CD (no cassette tape or DVD, please)
- Repertoire List
- Résumé
- Letter of Recommendation
- Completed Audition Application Form
Instrumental Audition:
- Two (2) Level 4+ solo pieces, no accompaniment necessary (Level 4 based on the NYSSMA Solo Manual, for other state grading systems please consult your private instructor or band director)
- Be able to sight read from current Marist Band concert repertoire
- Two (2) major scales of your choice
- Résumé
- Letter of Recommendation
- Completed Audition Application Form
