Please note: The information below pertains to the 2025-26 academic year. The 2026-27 dates will be updated in the spring.
Welcome to Move-In at Marist University!
We’re excited to welcome you to campus this August. Whether you're a first-year student, returning upperclassman, or taking advantage of early drop-off, this site has everything you need to prepare for a smooth move-in experience.
Choose Your Move-In Option:
First-Year Students
Move-in Dates:
- Wednesday, August 26, 2026: First-year students traveling more than 5 hours to campus
Thursday, August 27, 2026: First-year students traveling less than 5 hours to campus
Arrival Details:
- Move-in instructions will follow housing assignments, which are expected to be sent by August 7. Please plan to arrive during your assigned move-in session.
- The email will include instructions on unloading your belongings and parking.
- Questions? Email: newstudentmovein@marist.edu
Exceptions: These dates may not apply to student-athletes, band members, learning support students, student workers, or student volunteers. Your program facilitator will provide your move-in details.
Get a Head Start – Drop off items and start setting up your room before move-in day. Advanced registration is required! This is only for first-year students.

Times: You will receive an email in early August to sign up.
- No Overnight Stays – Students must leave the residence hall by 5:30 p.m. on the day they are signed up for early drop-off.
- For Those in the Area – This option is ideal for students who are nearby and want to ease their move-in process. This is a self-serve event, and you should be prepared to supply your own hand carts for transporting items.
- Advanced Registration Required to participate.
Transfer Students
Move-in Date: Wednesday, August 26, 2026

International First-Year Students
Move-in Date: Monday, August 24, 2026
Arrival Details:
- You will receive your specific move-in instructions via email from International Student Services after housing and roommate assignments are finalized.
- The email will include information about airport transportation, unloading your belongings, and orientation events specific for you.
Returning Sophomores Who Spent Their First Year Studying Abroad
Move-in Date: Tuesday, August 25, 2026
Arrival Details:
- You will receive specific move-in information from the Study Abroad Office via email in early August, after housing and roommate assignments are finalized. Please adhere to your assigned move-in date and time.
- The email will include instructions on unloading your belongings, parking, and orientation events specific for you.
Upperclass Students – Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors
Move-in Date: August 29-30, 2026
Arrival Details:
- To support a smooth experience, upperclassmen move-in will take place on August 29-30. This is a new policy.
- Early arrivals will not be allowed unless the student has special permission.
- Exceptions: These dates may not apply to student-athletes, band members, learning support students, student workers, or student volunteers. Your program facilitator will provide your move-in details.
- Look for specific move-in information from Residence Life in the spring. Contact Residence Life at reslife@marist.edu.
First Year Student Early Drop-Off Opportunity
Get a Head Start – Drop off items and start setting up your room before move-in day. Advanced registration is required! This is only for first-year students.
Dates: August 16, 17, and 18
Times: You can register for a time slot via email.
- No Overnight Stays – Students must leave the residence hall by 7 p.m. on the day they are signed up for early drop-off.
- For Those in the Area – This option is ideal for students who are nearby and want to ease their move-in process. This is a self-serve event, and you should be prepared to supply your own hand carts for transporting items.
- Advanced Registration Required to participate. Students will receive an email with details and available dates in late summer.
