Maker Lab Mission Statement

The Maker Lab at Marist is a welcoming, inclusive space for students of all disciplines to collaborate, create, design, play, invent and learn. We are a space for all Red Foxes to tap into their creativity, support academic instruction, experiment with state-of-the-art technology, bring forward their inner artist, expand upon skills learned in the classroom, and collaborate to create something new to proudly say, "This was made at Marist." Our home is your home here at the Maker Lab!

Maker Lab Code of Conduct

Community

You are a part of the Maker Lab community when you use this space: Please help us maintain a respectful, welcoming environment by being mindful of how you share the space.

Respect

Respect this shared space by cleaning up after yourself and keeping your personal items condensed. Please show kindness as we try to help you with your work.

Self-Sufficiency

The Maker Lab workers are here to assist you in getting you to a place where you can be self-sufficient and problem-solve when issues arise in creating your vision. But you are the captain of your projects, and the hope is that it is an empowering experience!

Communication

Things break and need maintenance: it happens! Please inform a Maker Lab worker when something goes awry so we can get things back to moving as smoothly and quickly as possible.

Materials

Materials used for purposes of coursework and professional development are free for Marist Students. Student Clubs and Organizations should set up a consultation to discuss their project. Please be mindful of consumption and do your best to choose the material size that best suits your vision. We are to help you think this through.

Overnight Prints

Please make sure to communicate with the Maker Lab staff if your 3D print will be printed overnight. It is your responsibility to check in about your print(s).

Wellness

Your mental health and self-wellness are important. Marist has resources when you need help. The counseling center is available to all students, located at Midrise 113. Their number is (845) 575-3314. Help and support are here for you at Marist.
