School of Communication and the Arts
Dual Degree BA/MC
Five-year program: BA in Communication and MA in Marketing Communication
Marist’s dual degree program is designed for students pursuing a BA in Communication and an MA in Marketing Communication in five years. While the undergraduate curriculum focuses both on the theory and practice of Communication, the 30-credit hour graduate degree program provides students with an interdisciplinary and cutting-edge educational experience. Students will take courses in the areas of advertising, public relations, brand management, strategic communication, and social media. Students will learn the fundamentals of marketing communication research, social media analytics, branding, public relations and advertising management, global consumer insights, social and digital marketing strategies, digital storytelling, and apply what they learn to real-world projects both in and outside of the classroom. Students take six core courses and four electives in one of three concentrations: health communication concentration, digital marketing communication concentration, and strategic leadership concentration. The Health Communication and Strategic Leadership concentrations draw on the existing online Masters in Public Administration program in the School of Management.

Post-Graduate Technology Intern
The courses I am taking as a graduate student differ tremendously from my undergraduate experience. One of the major benefits of the program is having the opportunity to work with students in different fields and experience levels. This challenged me to not only think critically and strategically but explore other pathways within the industry. In addition, these courses provided a greater analysis and explanation behind commination theories and business practices.
