MPA Networking and Career Events
Marist College maintains a robust schedule of academic, professional, and social networking opportunities for students and alumni throughout the year. Events are organized by the School of Management, Student Affairs, and the Alumni Affairs Office and are held on the Poughkeepsie campus, at various locations around the country, and online. All students and alumni are encouraged to participate and suggest appropriate programming.
While Marist's MPA degree program only requires an internship for students with less than three years of work experience, career advising and development services are available through both the School of Management and the Center for Career Services. Both offices maintain a robust listing of employment and internship opportunities as well as alumni volunteers who are available to speak with students about career planning. All students and alumni are encouraged to utilize these services on campus or via the Web.
Students can be advised or find information on:
• finding a full-time job
• recruiting programs
• conferences
• competitions
• news
• resume building
• cover letters
• interviewing
• contacting Marist alumni in your field
• fellowships and scholarships
• setting up a reference file
