A Day in the Life of a Cybersecurity Student

Follow Cybersecurity major, Mandy on a tour of her typical day on the Marist campus. She tours around campus and shares her daily experiences--dorm life in Lavelle Hall, North End dining, and the Hancock Center, including the state-of-the-art Security Operations Center.

Marist Cybersecurity Partnership with Sentricus

See how Marist is bridging academia and industry through a bold new partnership with Sentricus, a national cybersecurity firm. Students will gain direct access to mentorships, internships, and a podcast platform that focuses on real-world threats and innovations. A hands-on capstone project this semester tackles AI and risk management under Sentricus sponsorship, giving students a chance to solve pressing cybersecurity challenges. Marist's program now also holds a top designation from the NSA, reflecting its alignment with elite standards in cyber education.

Take a Technology Facility Tour

From Cybersecurity to Quantum computing, the Hancock Center is home to Marist's Computer Science and Mathematics majors. State-of-the-art facilities include:

  • The Security Operations Center where cybersecurity students learn to monitor, assess, and defend enterprise information systems.
  • The Networking Lab where students design, implement, and troubleshoot scalable and secure networks.
  • The E-Sports Rooms where team members train and collaborate.
  • The Internet of Things Lab where students learn to explore vulnerabilities in consumer devices.
  • The Enterprise Computing Research Lab, the main data center, where students can operate and maintain servers and other industry-standard computer equipment.

For over fifteen years, Marist has created a top-ranked summer pre-college program that gives students a sense of college life, provides a taste of a college major, and allows students to earn college credit while still in high school. At Marist's Summer Pre-College program, you'll engage in daily class sessions with leading faculty and explore exciting career opportunities in your field.
