About Our Club 

Beyond the Needle is an interdisciplinary club that strives to provide students with real-life opportunities to gain hands-on experience in the fashion industry, regardless of previous experience, grade, or major. The club aims to create an environment where students can develop resume-building skills in professional settings, while also connecting with industry experts. Members can expect to meet new students across different majors that share similar career goals and enthusiasm for the fashion industry.

Executive Board Members:

President: Natalie Ursich

  • The President is responsible for creating agendas for club meetings, while ensuring that the goals of the club are met. This also includes planning volunteer and community service events that members can get involved with throughout the semester. Additionally, they send communication via email to members about volunteer events, monthly meetings, and more.

Vice President: Lindsay Tsiantoulas

  • The Vice President assists the President with event planning and club communications. They are responsible for room reservations and additional needs for club meetings. They work closely with club members when volunteer opportunities arise.

Secretary: Curtis Rodriguez

  • The Secretary maintains club records, such as meeting attendance, priority points, and more.

Treasurer: Jayda Cockett

  • The Treasurer is responsible for managing club finances and budgeting for events or club meetings.

Meeting Times

Beyond the Needle holds monthly club meetings, typically on a weeknight at 9:30 p.m. in Steel Plant. Club meetings generally include an information session or workshop related to topics in the fashion industry. In addition to club meetings, members have the opportunity to get involved as volunteers at different types of fashion events on and off campus multiple times throughout the semester.

Earn Priority Points through Clubs and Activities

To earn one (1) point: Members must attend a minimum of 50% of club/organization meetings for the semester and 50% of club/organization activities.

To earn two (2) points: Members must attend a minimum of 50% of club/organization meetings for the semester and 75% of club/organization activities, PLUS the community service event.

To earn three (3) points (executive board only): Officers must attend 50% of club meetings for the semester and 100% of club activities, including community service. If executive board members do not complete all of the requirements to earn three points, they will be eligible to receive up to two points based on the above criteria.
