About Our Club
Our purpose is to aid undergraduate students at Marist with an interest in furthering women’s success in the workplace by expanding their knowledge and network while encouraging them to use their voice, and take risks in their communities and organizations. Our mission statement is: “learn network empower”. Marist Women in Business bridges campus life with real world success. From peer “coffee chat” mentorship, skill building workshops and alumni panels, to local food and toy drives, members gain career tools while making a meaningful impact. The club welcomes and encourages all students, fostering an inclusive and well connected community!
Executive Board Members:
CEO (President): Kaylie Locke
- Responsible for creating an open stream of communication between members of C-Suite regarding club events and activities as well as communicating with advisors and guest speakers. Also responsible for ensuring club operations and activities run efficiently and creates strategy for the club both for the short-term and the long-term.
COO (Vice President): Lauren Hanley
- Responsible for overseeing the general meetings and events, and also coordinating with guest speakers. Being able to ensure that everything is running efficiently and timely and is able to report back to the CEO. Also the COO is responsible to take over if the CEO is busy or not available to solve a problem, attend a meeting or event.
CFO (Treasurer): Marissa Micchio
- Responsible for overseeing the distribution of funds to various WIB activities. Communicates with the WIB advisors to determine the annual budget and makes sure that expenses do not exceed the allotted budget amount. The CFO is responsible for all financial matters including, but not limited to, philanthropic projects, fundraisers, catering and event planning.
CIO (Secretary): Julio Schiliro
- Responsible for communication and coordination between the C-Suite and general members. Some items include email reminders and notifications for meetings/events/newsletters, booking rooms, and taking attendance at meetings. Day to day operations otherwise include supporting the rest of the C-Suite in planning, executing, and developing goals for the club.
CMO (Social Media Coordinator): Delia Clap
- Responsible for creating engaging and cohesive content for the social media pages on Instagram and LinkedIn. Responsibilities include coming up with original content, creating a content schedule (including junior board members), and posting about meetings and events.
CVO (Events Chair): Shelby Musgrove
- Responsible for planning and coordinating the 2 community service events each academic year. Day to day activities include thinking of general meetings and events ideas and working with other club boards to plan these events.
Meeting Times
Women in Business meets every other Tuesday at 9:15 p.m. in Dyson 1008. Meetings highlight both professional and personal skill development from LinkedIn and resume help to alumni panels and handling stress workshops.
Earn Priority Points through Clubs and Activities
To earn one (1) point: Members must attend a minimum of 50% of club/organization meetings for the semester and 50% of club/organization activities.
To earn two (2) points: Members must attend a minimum of 50% of club/organization meetings for the semester and 75% of club/organization activities, PLUS the community service event.
To earn three (3) points (executive board only): Officers must attend 50% of club meetings for the semester and 100% of club activities, including community service. If executive board members do not complete all of the requirements to earn three points, they will be eligible to receive up to two points based on the above criteria.
