About Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is a service organization whose mission is: “Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope.” As a club, we volunteer at our local Habitat for Humanity ReStore, a thrift store where people can purchase used furniture, home goods, and other household items. This year, we also plan to participate in local builds and repairs throughout our Dutchess County community, where we will volunteer and assist with building and repairing homes for families at various stages of the construction process. Some examples of tasks we may help with include sodding, painting, gardening, and more.

Every year, we also participate in a Collegiate Challenge trip over spring break, where we volunteer with a Habitat for Humanity affiliate somewhere in the United States and help build homes. Overall, Habitat for Humanity is a rewarding and fun club that allows us to give back to our community, gain hands-on experience, and make a meaningful impact.

Meeting Times/Locations

Habitat for Humanity meets monthly in the Student Center's River Rooms. Meetings begin at 9:15 pm and all meetings and locations will be sent via email and posted on our Instagram account.

Priority Point Criteria

You will earn 2 priority points if you attend 75% of the meetings and complete 16 hours of service.

You will earn 1 priority point if you attend 50% of the meetings and complete 8 hours of service.
