Marist Accounting Club (MAC)
Co-Curricular Club
About Our Organization
The Marist Accounting Club (MAC) is open to all students, regardless of their major, with the mission of promoting financial literacy, tax education, fraud prevention awareness, and promoting the accounting profession. MAC aims to create a space where students can develop essential skills, learn how to prepare for the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) test, network with professionals, and explore the diverse opportunities within the accounting industry. The club is affiliated with two national organizations: the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYCPA) and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). As the first certified NYCPA student chapter in the U.S., MAC provides members with access to unmatched resources, such as the NextGen program and networking events, while the ACFE focuses on anti-fraud education and offers pathways to earning the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification. Through bi-weekly or monthly events, including workshops, panels, and community outreach programs like NextGen program, MAC emphasizes both professional development and service. By connecting students with industry leaders and equipping them with critical skills, MAC makes a meaningful impact on the Marist community and beyond, fostering awareness and growth in the accounting field.
